Sam Kim

Lead PPN - General Surgery

Sam is a second-year MD/PhD student from Washington, DC. He graduated from Penn in 2021 with a BA in physics, biophysics and biochemistry. At Penn, he worked as a research assistant at the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn to examine the immune response to pancreatic cancer after combined immunotherapy. He also volunteered for a program tutoring high school students in West Philadelphia and as a child life volunteer at the emergency department of CHOP. Sam is passionate about promoting surgical equity and helping patients through the perioperative continuum. In his free time, Sam enjoys exercise and reading mystery novels, and some of his hobbies include swimming, running, and tennis.
