Tyler Lian

Tyler is a 2nd year MD student, interested in supporting health equity and community-driven systems change. Originally from Connecticut, he graduated from Duke University in 2020 with a BS in Mathematics and minors in Statistics and Chemistry. Before medical school, he worked as a research aide at Duke Population Health Sciences, studying and evaluating programs that address the social determinants of health in clinical settings. At Penn, he serves as a Lead PPN for CSH Plastics/Hand, in particular striving to strengthen care pathways for patients seeking gender affirming surgery. In addition, he is involved with the Urban Health Lab, the Center for Health Equity Advancement (CHEA), and the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA). In his free time, Tyler is trying to learn how to dance and play basketball.
